Surf City and Topsail Beach Elect New leadership in 2025 Pender County Elections
SURF CITY & TOPSAIL BEACH, NC – Pender County voters have chosen new representatives for Surf City and Topsail Beach, according to unofficial results released following Tuesday’s election. Frank Braxton secured another term as Surf City Mayor,while Topsail beach voters elected Nancy Kerr Thomason,John best,and Alex arab to serve as Commissioners. These outcomes signal a shift in local governance and will impact key decisions regarding coastal development, infrastructure, and community services in both towns.

Surf City Mayor Race
Frank Braxton overwhelmingly won re-election as Surf City Mayor, garnering 202 votes, representing 85.96% of the total ballots cast. Write-in candidates received 33 votes, accounting for 14.04%.
Topsail Beach Commissioner Race
The race for Topsail Beach Commissioner was more closely contested. Nancy Kerr Thomason led the field with 179 votes (29.34%), followed closely by John best with 178 votes (29.18%). Alex Arab secured the third seat with 137 votes (22.46%). Zizack Team received 110 votes (18.03%),and write-in candidates received 6 votes (0.98%).
Other Pender County Races
Needham C. Hall was elected with 15 votes (88.24%) in The Mayor is gone race, with write-in candidates receiving 2 votes (11.76%). In The commissioner is gone race, Ken Fountain led with 15 votes (32.61%), followed by Samuel Miller with 11 votes (23.91%), and Rachel Stadsvold with 10 votes (21.74%). Joseph Craig received 8 votes (17.39%), and write-in candidates received 2 votes (4.35%).
