WASHINGTON – As the federal government shutdown continues to impact federal employees,contractors,and related workers,F&A Federal credit Union is providing a range of financial assistance options to help members navigate the disruption. Recognizing the financial strain caused by delayed paychecks, F&A is offering several programs designed to minimize hardship.
Members eligible for assistance can access a short-term loan of up to $5,000 with a 0% interest rate.The loan features a 90-day deferral of payments, followed by a 25-month repayment period with low monthly installments.
beyond the short-term loan, F&A is offering individualized loan payment deferrals, modifications, and a skip-a-payment option at no additional cost or negative impact to member credit. The credit union will also waive late fees and other applicable fees for those directly affected by the shutdown.
