Antigua ABLP Primary: Candidates Vie for St. Philip’s South Nomination

St. Philip’s South Set‌ for Heated ABLP Primary as Senator Johnson‌ Enters Race

A competitive primary election is brewing ⁣within the Antigua and Barbuda Labor Party (ABLP) in the st. Philip’s South constituency, ​with​ four candidates now officially vying for the party’s⁣ nomination ahead of the upcoming general⁤ election.⁣

Among those seeking the ABLP candidacy is ‍Senator Kiz Johnson, a marketing⁤ specialist and university lecturer ⁣who ​has quickly become recognized as a rising ​voice within the Labour⁢ movement through her work in youth and ​community initiatives.

Johnson will face a⁤ challenge⁣ from Lennox Weston, a ⁢veteran ABLP figure and former Member of Parliament for St. ⁤Philip’s South. Weston previously held the post of ⁤minister of Works and ⁤is ‍aiming to regain the‍ seat he lost in the last general election.

Rounding out the field are entrepreneurs Adrian Richardson and Malcom Charles, both offering new perspectives to the contest. Richardson is ‍well-known for his business ventures and commitment to community outreach,including providing scholarships and ⁤employment opportunities. Charles has distinguished himself as⁢ an advocate for digital innovation and youth⁣ engagement.
