JONES COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) – The South Mississippi Fair continues to draw crowds, with organizers and law enforcement reporting a safe and secure environment for attendees as of Wednesday.
Jones County Sheriff Joe Berlin confirmed minimal security issues during the fair’s opening weekend, noting a brief altercation seen on social media lasted only “10 seconds.” He emphasized a visible law enforcement presence throughout the fairgrounds, bolstered by contracted security from ProTec Security Company, with many ProTec employees also serving as Jones County Sheriff’s Office deputies.
