breaking: DJs can now unify their digital music libraries across different hardware and software brands thanks to OneLibrary, a new initiative from AlphaTheta corporation, the parent company of Pioneer DJ. the system allows seamless compatibility between rekordbox, Traktor, and djay Pro, standardizing music data and settings like cue points, playlists, and beat grids.
Developed in collaboration with algoriddim and Native Instruments,OneLibrary aims to eliminate compatibility issues DJs frequently enough face when performing with unfamiliar equipment at various venues. The unified format ensures consistent library functionality across AlphaTheta, Traktor, and Algoriddim products.
“Collaborating with AlphaTheta on OneLibrary aligns perfectly with our mission to remove barriers in the DJ ecosystem,” said Karim Morsy, CEO of Algoriddim gmbh, in a press statement. “by allowing users to export djay Pro’s library for direct use on pro hardware like the CDJ-3000X, CDJ-3000, or the XDJ-AZ, we’re giving DJs the flexibility to perform seamlessly across setups – whether at home, in the club, or on stage.”
AlphaTheta states OneLibrary is functionally identical to its existing Device Library Plus feature, with plans to eventually rebrand Device Library Plus as OneLibrary. The two systems are described as “fully compatible” in the OneLibrary FAQ.
AlphaTheta intends to expand OneLibrary’s compatibility to include additional DJ software and hardware in the future.
