PLAIN CITY - The Jonathan Alder volleyball team secured a Sectional Title Thursday night with a dominant 3-0 sweep of Columbus South in the opening round of the OHSAA tournament. The Pioneers won with commanding set scores of 25-0, 25-0, and 25-5, elevating their season record to 21-2.
Cailyn Glick spearheaded the Pioneer offence with a career-best 11 kills. Peyton Hanna contributed 7 kills and a block, while Lily Boeckl added 4 kills. Audrey Lange and Tori Yoder each tallied 3 and 2 kills,respectively.
Ali Hayes excelled at the service line, earning 24 points with 5 aces and adding 6 kills. Raegan Tremayne closely followed with 26 service points and 5 aces. Charlotte Kuhns chipped in 4 kills and 2 service points.Anna Hayes and Kacey Anderson orchestrated the offense with 19 and 13 assists, respectively, along with 2 aces for Hayes and 3 digs for Anderson.
Addison Garman and erica Brown each added 4 points from the service line, completing the team’s comprehensive victory.
Jonathan Alder will advance to the district semifinal round, hosting Bishop Watterson on Monday, October 20, at 6 p.m.
