Consumers should avoid eating a specific Edeka ice cream bar due to teh potential presence of glass fragments, the retailer announced today.
Edeka is voluntarily recalling its “Gut & Günstig Crunchy Peanut Ice Cream” bars, packaged in sets of six 53-milliliter units. The recall affects products with a best-before date of May 23, 2027. The company initiated the recall after determining that glass pieces may be contained within individual bars, posing a health risk to consumers.

Edeka advises customers not to consume the recalled ice cream bars. The product was primarily sold at Edeka and Marktkauf stores. though, locations in Saarland and South Hesse, as well as the majority of stores in Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate, are *not* affected by the recall.

according to Edeka, affected stores have already removed the product from shelves. Customers can return the ice cream to any store for a full refund, even without a receipt. (dpa)
