Bundesliga underrepresented as Golden Boy 2025 Contenders Revealed
Milan, Italy – The shortlist for the 2025 Golden Boy award, recognizing Europe’s top young footballing talent, has been announced, revealing a limited presence of players currently competing in the Bundesliga. Only two players plying their trade in Germany – Bayer Leverkusen‘s Eliesse Ben Seghir and Borussia Dortmund’s Jobe Bellingham – made the cut, with no German nationals included among the 21 nominees.
The annual award, presented by Tuttosport, is a prestigious honor often seen as a predictor of future footballing superstardom. This year’s list is dominated by players from the English Premier League and spain’s La Liga,with Paris Saint-Germain boasting two contenders: Désiré Doué and Warren Zaire-Emery. The winner,selected by a panel of journalists from across Europe,will be announced in November.
