‘Boston Blue’ Set to Premiere on CBS and Paramount+ with ‘Blue Bloods’ Star Donnie Wahlberg
CBS is expanding the ‘Blue Bloods’ universe with “Boston Blue,” a new drama series starring Donnie Wahlberg reprising his role as Detective Danny Reagan. The show will premiere with a two-hour event on CBS and will be available to stream on Paramount+ beginning at 10 p.m. ET. “Boston Blue” promises to weave a new procedural narrative while connecting to the established Reagan family legacy.
The spinoff centers on Reagan’s partnership with Detective Lena Silver (Sonequa Martin-Green, known for “The Walking Dead”), the daughter of a prominent law enforcement family.The premiere episode will follow the pair as they investigate a deadly fire at a tech company, uncovering secrets related to facial recognition technology that will intertwine the Reagan and Silver families.
Beyond Wahlberg and Martin-green, the cast includes Mika Amonsen as Sean Reagan, Danny’s son embarking on his own Boston career, and Maggie Lawson as Boston police superintendent Sarah Silver. Marcus Scribner (“Black-ish”) will portray rookie cop Jonah Silver, Gloria Reuben will play Boston district attorney Mae Silver, and Ernie Hudson will take on the role of Baptist pastor Rev. edwin Peters.
