Hotfixes Deployed: October 14, 2025 – World of Warcraft
BRUSSELS – Blizzard Entertainment has released a series of hotfixes today, October 14, 2025, addressing class balance and functionality within world of Warcraft, alongside updates for Mists of Pandaria Classic content. The adjustments target several specializations, aiming to refine PvP combat effectiveness and resolve issues impacting player progression.
These updates are crucial for maintaining competitive balance as players engage in both current-expansion and classic content. The hotfixes impact players across multiple classes – Death Knight, Monk, Paladin, and Shaman – with adjustments to key abilities and set bonuses. Simultaneously,enhancements to mists of Pandaria Classic gear progression and arena access provide immediate benefits to players revisiting the beloved expansion.
Class Adjustments – PvP Focus
Several class specializations received targeted adjustments to their performance in Player versus Player (pvp) combat. Leydrinkiner’s damage effectiveness in PvP has been reduced from 70% to 35%. Conversely,Mistweaver Monks will experience a 15% increase to the healing output of both Enveloping Mist and Soothing Mist in PvP scenarios.
Retribution paladins saw both Dawnlight and Sun’s Avatar damage decreased by 15% in PvP.A correction was also implemented to ensure the 11.2 Herald of the Sun 2-piece set bonus is properly reduced by 33% in PvP combat, resolving a previously identified issue.
Enhancement Shamans received a suite of changes. Stormstrike damage is increased by 45% (excluding Windstrike), while Lightning Bolt damage gains a 20% boost. Damage from Thorim’s Invocation abilities - Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, and Tempest – is now 50% effective in PvP (down from 70%). The effectiveness of Doom Winds’ Windfury trigger chance was reduced to 100% (previously 200%), and Feral Spirits now increase Physical and Elemental damage by 5% (reduced from 10%).
Mists of Pandaria Classic Updates
Players engaging with Mists of Pandaria Classic now have the ability to upgrade gear obtained from the Dominance Offensive and Operation: Shieldwall factions. A bug preventing the removal of the Empowering Flames debuff outside of active areas has been resolved. War Games are now available for Tol’viron Arena and the Tiger’s Peak, opening access to organized PvP combat within the classic expansion.
