Samsung to Unveil First Mixed Reality Headset at “Worlds wide Open” Event
Samsung is set to officially launch its first mixed reality headset on October 21st at an event titled “Worlds Wide Open,” Reuters reports.
While Samsung has previously alluded to the device, internally known as “Project Moohan,” the upcoming event is expected to provide comprehensive details regarding its features and specifications.
Project Moohan will be the inaugural product powered by Android XR,a new operating system jointly developed by Google,Qualcomm,and samsung. Android XR is designed to support a range of virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR) experiences, wiht a focus on integrating artificial intelligence and delivering immersive user interactions.
Samsung positions its new headset as a groundbreaking product intended to seamlessly integrate into daily life,enhancing user experiences and providing increased functionality.
The launch places Samsung directly in competition with established players in the mixed reality market, notably Meta, which currently holds a notable share. Samsung will also face competition from Apple, who are preparing to release a new iteration of their Vision Pro headset.
