Jeep Grand Wagoneer 2026: Flagship SUV Gains Plug-in Hybrid option with 800km+ Range
DETROIT - Jeep has unveiled updates to its Grand Wagoneer for the 2026 model year, headlined by the introduction of a new Reev Plug-in Hybrid powertrain boasting a total range exceeding 800 kilometers (approximately 497 miles). The revamped flagship SUV also features refined interior appointments, updated exterior styling, and a streamlined model lineup.
The arrival of the Grand Wagoneer Reev addresses growing consumer demand for electrified luxury vehicles, positioning Jeep to compete more effectively in the premium SUV segment. The changes represent a significant investment in the Grand WagoneerS future, aiming to solidify its status as a top-tier offering and attract buyers seeking both opulence and reduced emissions. The base Wagoneer variant has been discontinued, concentrating the lineup on higher-spec, feature-rich trims.
Exterior enhancements include a revised radiator grille,slimmer headlights,and a larger air intake. New wheel designs and a light bar connecting the taillights contribute to a modernized aesthetic. The Grand Wagoneer continues to be available in 5.4 and 5.7 meter (approximately 17.7 and 18.7 foot) lengths.
Inside, the 2026 Grand Wagoneer showcases upgraded materials and a larger 12-inch touchscreen display integrated into the central panel.An improved head-up display is also new for this model year. The high-end Summit Reserve trim now includes a McIntosh acoustic system with 23 speakers, a refrigerator, and ventilated seats in both the first and second rows.
The Reev Plug-in Hybrid combines a 3.6-liter petrol generator with a pair of electric motors,delivering a combined output of 656 horsepower. It utilizes a 92 kW·h battery pack, enabling an acceleration time of 5 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph).
The powertrain options have been rationalized; the 3.0-liter Hurricane engine producing 420 hp remains available, but the more powerful 540 hp version and the 6.4-liter V8 Hemi engine have been discontinued.
These updates follow the recent introduction of a hybrid version of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, signaling Jeep’s broader commitment to electrification across its model range.
