Jeep Grand Wagoneer 2026: Flagship SUV Gains Plug-in Hybrid ‌option with 800km+ ⁤Range

DETROIT -‌ Jeep has unveiled updates ⁢to its Grand ‌Wagoneer for the​ 2026 model year,⁢ headlined by the introduction of a new Reev Plug-in Hybrid powertrain boasting a total range exceeding 800​ kilometers (approximately 497 miles). The⁣ revamped flagship ‍SUV also features refined interior appointments, ‌updated​ exterior styling, and a streamlined model lineup.

The arrival of the‍ Grand Wagoneer‍ Reev addresses⁣ growing consumer demand for electrified​ luxury vehicles,​ positioning Jeep to compete more effectively‍ in the premium SUV segment. The changes represent a significant investment in ⁣the Grand WagoneerS future, aiming to solidify ⁤its status as ‌a top-tier ‌offering and attract ⁣buyers seeking both opulence and reduced emissions. The base Wagoneer variant has been discontinued, concentrating the lineup on higher-spec, feature-rich trims.

Exterior‌ enhancements include a revised radiator grille,slimmer⁢ headlights,and a larger air⁢ intake. ​New wheel designs and a light ​bar connecting the taillights contribute ​to a modernized aesthetic. ‍The Grand Wagoneer continues to be available ‌in‍ 5.4​ and 5.7 meter (approximately 17.7 and 18.7 foot) ​lengths.

Inside, the 2026 Grand Wagoneer showcases ⁣upgraded materials and a ​larger 12-inch touchscreen display integrated into the ​central panel.An improved head-up display is​ also ⁣new for this model year. The high-end Summit Reserve trim​ now includes a McIntosh acoustic system with ⁢23 speakers, a refrigerator, and ‌ventilated seats in both the first and second rows.

The Reev ‌Plug-in Hybrid combines a 3.6-liter petrol generator with a pair ⁢of electric motors,delivering a ‌combined output of 656 horsepower. It utilizes ‌a 92 kW·h battery ⁣pack, ⁢enabling an⁤ acceleration time of 5 ​seconds from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 ‌mph).

The powertrain options have been⁢ rationalized; the ‌3.0-liter Hurricane ‌engine ⁢producing 420 hp⁢ remains available, ⁢but the more powerful 540 hp ​version and the 6.4-liter V8 Hemi engine have been discontinued.

These updates follow⁣ the recent introduction of a ⁣hybrid version​ of the Jeep ​Grand ‌Cherokee, signaling Jeep’s broader commitment to electrification across its model range.
