Latvian Singer Adrija Žagare Debuts with Introspective New Single,”Meeting”
Rising Latvian artist Adrija Žagare has released her debut single,”Meeting,” a lyrically rich track born from a collaboration with producer David David and videographers Salvi. The song explores the complex emotions surrounding connection, offering a nuanced perspective on the idea of “entanglement.”
Žagare describes the concept behind “meeting” as moving beyond the typically anxious connotations of entanglement - the feeling of being stuck or unable to break free. “the word ‘entanglement’ is frequently enough used to describe dreaming, stuck or feeling that it is indeed unachievable to break away from something. Usually it carries tension and anxiety – just as my hands are tied. But when I get together with you, I have a completely different feeling – deep peace I have never experienced,” she explained.
The song’s creation was a deeply personal process for Žagare and David, developing organically from shared musicality. “We created the tune of the song with David – he at the piano, I – the voice and above – the feelings,” Žagare shared. The evocative lyrics are the work of Gata Irbīta,who Žagare credits with capturing “the moment when there is still silence between two people, but already tied in the inevitable knot.”
Songwriter Dāvis Laukāns echoed the song’s emotional resonance, stating, “‘Meeting’ is definately one of the songs that can touch every time I listen to it. There is a feeling that this song introduces something very special – such as magical warmth that closes my eyes, dream and just indulge in this moment.”
“Meeting” is now available for streaming and download, marking an exciting debut for the promising Latvian singer-songwriter.
