HOLLISTER, CA - The Hollister Fire department will mark 150 years of service to the community with a public celebration on Saturday, October 18, 2025. the event, held in advance of the department’s actual December anniversary, will honor its history and those who have dedicated themselves to protecting Hollister.
The day’s events will kick off with a parade assembling at 1:30 p.m.and stepping off at 2:00 p.m. The proposed route begins at Dunne Park (600 West Street), proceeding east on Seventh Street toward downtown, then north on San Benito Street to Fifth Street, and finally east on Fifth Street to Hollister Fire Station 1 (110 5th Street).
Following the parade, a ceremony will begin at 3:00 p.m. recognizing retiring personnel and administering the oath of office to those promoted in 2024 and 2025. An open house will promptly follow at Fire Station 1,featuring refreshments,food trucks,station tours,and a bounce house.
To ensure full participation from on-duty firefighters, the Hollister Fire Department has coordinated with partner agencies to provide station coverage during the first two hours of the event.
“This 150th anniversary is a tribute to the long tradition of service in our community,” said Chief Goulding. “We encourage everyone – firefighters, families, residents – to come out, walk with us, and celebrate together.”
