Apple Expected to Announce M5 Chip and New iPads,MacBook Pro This Week
CUPERTINO,CA – October 12,2025 – Apple is poised to unveil a new generation of products this week,delivering the highly anticipated M5 chip and updated versions of the iPad Pro and MacBook Pro through an online announcement,according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The launch signals Apple’s continued push for performance and efficiency across its product lines, impacting creative professionals, students, and everyday users alike.
Gurman reports the M5 chip will debut in the new iPad Pro and Vision Pro, with a new MacBook Pro also “likely” to be announced. While the base model MacBook pro is expected to feature the M5 chip, higher-end configurations with the M5 Pro and M5 Max are anticipated to arrive in early 2026.This staggered release strategy allows Apple to manage inventory and cater to different user needs.
Beyond these core updates, Apple has other products still in progress, including a refreshed HomePod mini, Apple TV, and airtag. Gurman confirms these remain on the roadmap, though a firm timeline for their release remains unclear.
