Putera & Levet Dominate Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe weekend with Back-to-Back Wins
SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS, Belgium – Adam Putera and Paul Levet (#6 VSR) achieved a stunning clean sweep of victories at Spa-Francorchamps this weekend in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe series, marking a triumphant return after missing the Nürburgring round. The duo secured wins in both races, solidifying their championship challenge.
Putera took the checkered flag in race one, holding off a late charge from Strignano on the final lap. ”It’s been a really amazing weekend, I couldn’t have asked for more, I am really, really happy,” said Putera. “I would be lying if I said I was not stressed on the final lap but I knew that overtaking here is very arduous and it would be hard for [Strignano] to pass, so I just put my car in the middle of the road.”
Levet echoed the sentiment, praising the team effort. “It’s such a team effort, Adam did a fantastic first stint and gave me a lot to fight with in the second stint. It’s incredible to work with him, not only as a team-mate but as a friend. We are the perfect combination, and we did a great job all weekend with these two victories. To come back after missing Nürburgring, is really amazing; I pushed as much as I could, and I am so happy to get these wins.”
Elsewhere on the grid, the #27 CMR team, with Lemeret at the wheel, secured a win on Sunday after initially leading race one. Perolini, driving the #61 Huracán, also claimed a victory, leading after the second restart.
In the other class, Paolo Ojjeh is on the verge of securing the class title, needing only one point at the upcoming Misano round after dominating both races this weekend with teammate Claude-Yves Gosselin.Ojjeh won race one ahead of Gosselin, with Baptista finishing third. He followed that up with another win in race two, with Harmsen recovering to second place and Turzo completing the podium.
