Men’s Tennis: Rebels Head to ITA Southern Regional Tournament

Ole Miss Men’s Tennis to Begin ⁢Fall Competition at ITA Southern Regional

OXFORD,Miss. – The Ole ⁣Miss men’s tennis ⁣team will kick off its ​fall schedule ​at the⁢ ITA‌ southern‌ Regional, taking place October 9-14 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.​ The tournament marks the ‍start of a ‌challenging fall season for the Rebels, featuring competition against top regional opponents ⁤and opportunities to build ​momentum heading into the spring.

The ITA Southern Regional is the first‌ of six fall tournaments on ‍Ole Miss’ schedule, including the Norman ITF,‌ SEC Challenge, Farnsworth ⁣Invitational, ITA Southern Sectional, and NCAA‍ Singles and Doubles Championships. ​The fall season provides a crucial platform ‍for both returning players and incoming⁢ freshmen to ⁣develop and ⁤compete.

Seven Rebels return from last year’s team, including seniors Isac Strömberg (Stockholm, Sweden) and Noah schlagenhauf⁣ (Nüertingen, Germany). Strömberg⁤ recorded 12 singles wins and ⁣a 14-12 doubles record ‌during the 2025 season, achieving a ranking as high as No. 51 in ITA ‍doubles with teammate Kai Milburn. Schlagenhauf posted a 17-19⁣ singles record and earned 10 doubles victories.Sophomore‍ Matthieu Chambonniere⁣ also returns, having finished ​the 2025 season‍ with a 23-7 singles record.

Joining the returning ‍players are ⁣three highly-ranked freshmen: D’agostino​ (ranked ⁢seventh), Jankanj (ranked 14th), ⁢and Pampanin​ (ranked 17th) in the‍ ITA ‍Newcomer rankings.‌

Following the ITA⁢ Southern Regional,the ⁤Rebels will compete in the Norman ITF‌ (October 19-26),SEC Challenge (October 24-26),Farnsworth Invitational (October 31-November ‍2),ITA Southern⁣ Sectional (November 6-9),NCAA Singles‌ and Doubles ‍Championships‍ (November 18-23),and conclude the fall season with the Oxford UTR event (December 1-7).
