Pope Welcomes Croatian Pilgrims to St. Peter’s Square

Pope Encourages Croatian Faithful to Preserve and Share Their Vibrant Faith

Vatican city – Pope Leon ⁢XIV warmly greeted Croatian pilgrims gathered in St. Peter‘s Square on Tuesday, October 7th, for their annual ⁤National Pilgrimage. He praised‍ their strong showing as a testament ⁣to the enduring faith within the Croatian people, a faith he noted has remained steadfastly​ connected to the ⁤Church for generations, tracing its lineage back to the Apostle Peter.

The‌ Pope expressed his joy at witnessing the continued growth of faith in Croatia,‍ attributing its vitality⁢ to the dedication of ​families, local church communities, and various religious associations. He emphasized the ​importance ​of cherishing the traditions passed down through⁢ the years, urging Croatians to continually revitalize them ⁣while remaining receptive ⁤to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Acknowledging that⁢ many⁤ Croatian believers live and work abroad,the Pope encouraged them ⁣to maintain a strong connection to their Christian heritage,serving as witnesses to ⁢the love​ of christ and the Church wherever they may be.

“Look always to‌ Jesus,⁤ the Good Shepherd, ⁣your guide and companion,” he implored, stressing the importance of faithful and obedient discipleship.He further called on the faithful⁤ to actively share their beliefs, passing on the Christian values woven into ‌Croatia’s rich history and culture to ‌future generations. “In this way,” he stated, “you will continue to build a world founded on peace, goodness, and hope.”

The Pope concluded the meeting by bestowing his blessing upon the pilgrims, and offered a special prayer for the protection of the ‌Lord and the Virgin Mary, revered as Croatia’s heavenly guardian.
