Jakarta, Indonesia – zimbabwean golfers Scott and Kieran Vincent delivered standout performances at the Jakarta International Championship this weekend, culminating in a dramatic playoff finish for Scott and a near-miss for Kieran in a competitive Asian Tour event.
Scott Vincent ultimately finished as runner-up to Australia’s Wade Ormsby after a tense playoff on the par-four 18th, while Kieran Vincent tied for sixth in a crowded field. The brothers’ strong showing underscores Zimbabwe‘s growing presence in professional golf and positions both players favorably as the Asian Tour heads into its final stretch. Scott’s performance also propelled him to the top of both the Asian Tour Order of Merit and the International Series Rankings.
Scott battled back from early struggles to force the playoff, his second runner-up finish of the season following a tie for second at the Shinhan Donghae Open weeks prior. Ormsby secured the victory with a par on the first extra hole after scott’s approach shot found the water.
“I don’t see it as disappointing at all. Wade played great golf, he hung in there and is a well-deserved champion,” Scott Vincent said. “I had my chances to win, but I don’t think it’s ever fully in my control. I was struggling just to make the cut on day two, and to then have a chance to win on Sunday, I can’t ask for much more than that.”
Kieran Vincent finished in a five-way tie for sixth alongside Doyeob Mun, Poom Saksansin, Pavit Tangkamolprasert, and Sadom Kaewkanjana, narrowly missing the playoff after a bogey on the 18th hole.
Scott vincent earned US$220,000 for his efforts, while Kieran took home US$86,320.Ormsby’s win moved him to fifth on the Asian Tour Order of Merit and third in the International Series Rankings. Scott reclaimed the top spot on both lists, surpassing Japan’s Kazuki Higa, who tied for 33rd. The Asian Tour will resume with the SJM Macao Open, followed by eight consecutive tournaments to conclude the season.
