Meek Mill Reacts to Evidence Suggesting Kyren Lacy‘s Innocence in Fatal Car Crash
Rapper Meek Mill has voiced his concern and outrage following the release of new evidence indicating that former LSU wide receiver Kyren Lacy did not cause the automobile accident that resulted in the death of Herman Hall. Mill shared his reaction on social media Sunday (October 5), amplifying calls for a reevaluation of the case that tragically concluded wiht Lacy’s death.
The renewed scrutiny stems from recently surfaced video evidence and bodycam footage revealing potential misconduct in the initial examination. Lacy, a promising NFL prospect, was charged in January 2025 with negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run, and reckless operation of a vehicle following the December 17, 2024, crash that killed 78-year-old Hall. He died by suicide on April 12, 2025, while awaiting trial. The new information, presented by Lacy’s attorney Matt Ory on October 3, casts significant doubt on the original police findings.
According to the newly released evidence,Lacy was over 70 yards away from the point of impact when the collision occurred. Furthermore, bodycam footage appears to show a police officer allegedly pressuring a witness to implicate Lacy in the crash.
Mill expressed his dismay on X (formerly Twitter),posting alongside a clip of the crash,”How can we handle things like this better[?]” he continued,”having a murder placed on you with a promising career is crazyyyyy!!! This a sad situation!!!” He followed with a post specifically naming Lacy: “Kyren Lacey!!!!! #kyrenlacey.”
The case has sparked renewed debate about the potential for wrongful accusations and the devastating consequences of a flawed legal process, particularly for young athletes. The release of this evidence may prompt further investigation and potentially led to a re-opening of the case, though the impact on Lacy’s estate remains uncertain.
