mainehealth Dental Care Clinic Belfast Receives Grant to Expand Access to Care
BELFAST, ME – MaineHealth Dental Care Clinic Belfast (formerly Waldo County Dental care) has been awarded a $16,000 grant from United Midcoast Charities to improve dental access for low-income, uninsured adults in Waldo County. The funding will support the clinic’s operating expenses, allowing them to serve more patients.
The clinic provides a range of dental services including cleanings, x-rays, fluoride treatments, sealants, fillings, and extractions. Dentures are also offered in certain specific cases,with potential additional fees.
Services are available to pediatric patients with MaineCare and adults aged 18+ residing in Waldo County who haven’t seen a dentist in the past year. Income eligibility begins at $30,120 for individuals, increasing with household size.
Clinic Manager Valerie Curtis notes that while routine appointments may require a wait, the practice prioritizes space for dental emergencies.
