Christopher Jackson to Give Final performance in Hell’s Kitchen July 7; durrell ’Tank’ babbs Returns to teh Role
Broadway’s Hell’s kitchen will see a change in leadership this summer as Christopher Jackson prepares to deliver his final performance as Ali on July 7. Concurrently, Durrell ‘Tank’ Babbs, who previously played the role during previews, will reprise his performance beginning July 9.
The cast shift arrives as Hell’s Kitchen continues its acclaimed run, having garnered 13 Tony Award nominations in 2024 and ultimately winning awards for performances by Maleah Joi moon and Jackson, and also the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album. The production, inspired by Alicia Keys’ life and music, features choreography by Camille A. Brown, music direction by Lily Ling, and orchestrations by Adam Blackstone and Tom Kitt.
Jackson originated the role of Ali in the production, earning widespread praise for his portrayal. Babbs initially stepped into the role during previews before Jackson officially took the reins.
