Philadelphia Union Academy Standouts Garner U.S. Youth National Team Call-Ups
Four players connected to the Philadelphia Union organization-Malik Jakupovic, Ruben Ramos Jr., Jacob Ramirez, and mattheo Dimareli-have been selected for upcoming United States Youth National Team camps, signaling a strong showing for the club’s developmental system. The call-ups span both the U-17 and U-19 levels, highlighting the Union’s success in cultivating talent across multiple age groups.
Thes selections underscore the growing prominence of the Philadelphia Union Academy as a key pipeline for emerging American soccer talent. National team recognition provides invaluable experience for these young players, exposing them to international competition and potentially accelerating their advancement pathways toward professional careers. The U-17 MNT, led by alex Aldaz, will train in San Pedro del Pinatar, Spain, with matches scheduled against Netherlands (Oct. 9),Northern Ireland (Oct. 11), and Portugal (Oct. 14).
Forward Malik Jakupovic, currently with Union II, received a call-up to the U-17 MNT (2009) camp. He joins a roster of 23 players preparing for upcoming international friendlies.
Ruben Ramos Jr. (La Galaxy; La Puente, Calif.) and Jacob Ramirez (Orlando City; Orlando, Fla.) were named to the U-17 MNT (2009) roster as forwards.
Mattheo Dimareli (Houston Dynamo; Houston, Texas) joins the U-17 roster as a forward.
