Natchitoches,LA - Northwestern state University’s incoming N-Club Hall of Fame class of 2025 has been recognized as the Exchange Bank and Trust Demon Greats of the Game,the university announced today. The 13 inductees will be honored during Saturday’s 6 p.m. Homecoming football game against East texas A&M.
This recognition highlights the meaningful contributions of former Northwestern State athletes, coaches, and supporters. The Exchange Bank and Trust Demon Greats of the Game program, now in its second decade, celebrates individuals who have left an indelible mark on the university’s athletic legacy. The Hall of Fame induction ceremony and reception will take place Saturday morning, beginning at 9 a.m. with the induction at 10 a.m. in Magale Recital Hall on the NSU campus.
The 2025 class represents seven different Northwestern State sports. Four-time All-American javelin thrower Cody Fillinich leads the group, joined by Demon basketball standouts Josh Hancock, Tyrone Mitchell, and Jermaine Wallace. Mitchell and Wallace famously teamed up on the 2005-06 “Demons of Destiny” squad that achieved a stunning upset victory over Iowa in the NCAA Tournament.
Also being inducted are football players Mike Crow, Derrick Johnsese, and Toby Zeigler, alongside softball pitcher Amanda Glenn, women’s basketball player Amanda Bennett, soccer’s Heather Penico, and baseball’s David Reynolds. Coach Gay McNutt will also be enshrined. Layne Miller,a long-time supporter of NSU Athletics,will receive the Distinguished Service Award.
