Winnipeg Blue Bombers Sign Tyrone Davis – CFL Contract News

Blue ⁢Bombers Ink Wide Receiver T.J.⁢ Davis to ‌Future Contract

WINNIPEG, MB ⁣- The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have ⁣signed wide receiver Tyrone⁣ (T.J.) Davis to a future‍ contract, beginning with ‌the 2026 CFL season,⁣ as per ⁢CFL Transactions.

Davis, a six-foot-three, 185-pound ⁤athlete from Colorado Springs, Colorado,‌ most recently⁢ signed with the Green Bay Blizzard of the Indoor Football league (IFL) ⁤on July 24, 2024, ‍though ⁤he did not see game action during their playoff run. He re-signed with the Blizzard on November 27, 2025.

In 19 games with the Blizzard ⁤in 2025,Davis ⁤showcased his versatility,recording⁢ 70 receptions for 904 yards and 26 touchdowns. He also contributed as a runner (14 carries for 45‍ yards, two touchdowns), passer (one⁣ completion for four yards and a touchdown), and returner (21 kick returns for⁢ 355 yards), ‌adding three tackles on defense. his performance earned him Second Team All-IFL honors and helped propel the Blizzard to the IFL championship Game‌ against the Vegas knight Hawks.

Prior to‌ joining the IFL, Davis enjoyed a decorated five-year ​collegiate career (2019-2023) as a‌ quarterback at‌ the University of Nebraska-Kearney. He completed 402 of 698 passes for 6,525 yards and 61 touchdowns, while also amassing ‍4,361 ​rushing yards and 61 rushing touchdowns on 852⁢ carries. He‌ also recorded three ⁣receptions for eight yards and a touchdown, along ⁣with⁣ seven tackles.⁤

Davis’s accomplishments at Nebraska-Kearney include being named‍ a two-time First Team All-MIAA ⁣selection, a two-time MIAA offensive Player of the Year, a two-time ⁤Harlon⁢ Hill Trophy finalist, and⁢ a two-time all-american (AFCA, D2CCA, and Don Hansen Football⁢ Gazette). He holds‍ the Lopers’ single-season touchdown record with 119 ⁣and​ is one of only ⁣two players in program history to record ⁢three 1,000-yard rushing seasons.
