Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Reveals New Multiplayer Modes, Zombies Map, and Warzone Location in Extensive Showcase
Los Angeles, CA - October 1, 2024 – Activision today unveiled a deep dive into Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, showcasing new multiplayer gameplay, details on the Zombies mode’s “Ashes of the damned” map, and a preview of the new Resurgence map coming to Warzone. The lengthy showcase offered a comprehensive look at the upcoming title, slated for release on November 14th.
The presentation highlighted a new weapon mechanic allowing players to charge their firearms to reduce spread and improve mid-range accuracy. Activision also confirmed the addition of both new and returning weapons, alongside post-launch content including attachment rewards and weekly challenges delivered through seasonal updates. Camo enthusiasts are in for a treat, with Activision promising a “big” year for customization, featuring a dedicated camo track within the co-op campaign, 16 mastery camos across multiplayer, Zombies, Warzone, and co-op, and further camos as seasonal rewards.
Multiplayer action was demonstrated with a preview of “Overload,” a new 6v6 objective mode. teams compete to secure an “overload device” and deliver it to one of the opposing team’s two zones, with the first team to eight points winning.
Zombies mode will launch with the round-based map “Ashes of the Damned,” inspired by the Bermuda Triangle. The map features landmarks with dark histories, including a ruined Janus Towers Plaza, Black Water Cabin, Vandorn Farm, and the town of Ashwood. Players will face relentless waves of undead, including the loot-snatching Ravagers, and utilize the “Tessie” wonder vehicle, which can be upgraded with features like thrusters and chomp attacks. Vandorn Farm will also be available as a Survival map in the upcoming beta.
Warzone players will receive a new Resurgence map, “Haven’s Hollow,” a small appalachian town that serves as a pre-outbreak version of Liberty Falls from zombies. The map features nine unique points of interest, including a train station, mansion, lumber mill, riverboat, and more. “Haven’s Hollow” will arrive with Season 1 later this year.
