RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - A Life Pacific University (LPU) alumna and her husband are spearheading a multifaceted ministry in Brazil, extending spiritual guidance alongside critical infrastructure and healthcare to underserved communities. coral huson ’16 and her husband, Rodney, are actively equipping leaders, building churches, and providing essential resources like electricity, clean water, and eye care to remote regions of the country.
The Husons‘ work addresses a critical need for both spiritual and physical support in Brazil, particularly within indigenous communities often lacking basic necessities. Their efforts represent a growing trend of faith-based organizations integrating humanitarian aid with missionary work, demonstrating a holistic approach to community progress. As they continue to expand their reach, the Husons aim to empower local leaders and foster enduring growth, impacting not only individual lives but also the broader social fabric of Brazil.
Today, Coral and Rodney focus their ministry on equipping leaders across brazil. Rodney oversees a main church with 20 satellite congregations, and together they regularly teach, preach, and encourage leaders across thes groups. They have also been invited to serve in indigenous communities in Northern Brazil, were they have partnered in the construction of eight churches. These structures provide not only places of worship but also access to lights, electricity, and running water for the first time in some villages. Moreover, they offer free basic eye exams and eyeglasses, addressing both spiritual and physical needs.
Through it all, their greatest passion and joy is seeing lives transformed by the love of God. As Coral puts it, “Our most crucial goal is that each person would know the love of God, become His child, and take part in building the kingdom of God.”
