Los Angeles, CA – The body of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, a 13-year-old girl reported missing on April 5, 2024, was discovered in the trunk of a Tesla owned by singer D4vd, and authorities believe she may have been deceased for several weeks before the discovery.
Los Angeles police discovered the remains on September 17, 2025, after the vehicle was towed from a Hollywood Hills neighborhood on September 5. The Tesla had been ticketed on September 3 for violating the area’s three-day parking limit, following an initial parking violation notice on August 27. Residents reported the car had been parked in the neighborhood for over a month.
According to Los Angeles Police Department Capt. Scot Williams, “We no that the Tesla had been parked at the location from which it was towed for several weeks, so it is very likely Celeste Rivas Hernandez had been dead for several weeks prior to her body being discovered.”
The los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office stated that Rivas Hernandez “appears to have been deceased inside the vehicle for an extended period of time before being found,” but has not yet resolute a cause or manner of death. Williams added, “The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has not determined a cause or manner of her death, so we don’t know without a doubt if anyone has any criminal culpability for her death beyond the concealment of her dead body,” noting the robbery-homicide division is continuing to investigate.
D4vd, whose real name is pronounced “David,” is a 20-year-old singer-songwriter from Houston known for songs like “Romantic Homicide” and “Here With Me.” He and his manager were reportedly staying at a Los Angeles property in the hollywood Hills in September, and police searched the residence. Following the discovery, D4vd cancelled his scheduled performances at The Warfield and The Greek Theatre as part of his US tour.
