BASSETERRE,ST. KITTS – The St. Kitts Music Festival is rapidly establishing itself as a must-attend event for music lovers, blending international headliners with the authentic sounds of the Caribbean. Following a triumphant 2024 festival, organizers are already looking ahead to the 28th edition, scheduled for June 27-29, 2026, promising another dynamic showcase of musical talent.
The festival’s appeal lies in its unique combination of globally recognized artists and the opportunity to discover emerging Caribbean stars. This year’s event highlighted the rising talent of IDeli Napi, a St. Kitts native who made her festival debut with her song “Mus Mek It.” Born Delrose Wilkinson, Napi’s musical foundation is rooted in reggae and soul, genres she began exploring from a young age and further developed while playing the saxophone at Basseterre high School.
Napi’s debut single, “Run Come,” released in September 2020, quickly gained attention for its fusion of reggae and soul, embodying her artistic beliefs of “authentic vibes.” She describes her creative process as a “cookup” - blending influences while maintaining a distinctly personal sound. Napi credits the strong artistic community in St. Kitts, particularly the presence of women in leadership roles, for providing crucial support. “There is always some presence of a woman somewhere in certain positions that you could be like, Okay, she got me. she got me,” she shared. “So it’s a agreeable feeling. I feel like I don’t have to be fighting everybody on my own or fighting to get my voice heard on my own. So, the support and the community are lovely.”
