West Ham United has dismissed Graham Potter as its head coach, the Premier League club announced today, September 27, 2025. The decision comes after a disappointing start to the season, leaving the London-based team in a precarious position in the league standings.
Potter’s departure marks a swift end to his tenure, which began in January 2025. He leaves with a record of six wins, five draws, and 14 losses across 25 matches in charge. The move signals the club’s urgency to reverse its fortunes as it navigates a challenging period.
Prior to joining West Ham, the 50-year-old coach managed Swansea, Brighton & Hove albion, and Chelsea, bringing a wealth of experience from the British Isles. However,he was unable to translate that experience into success at London stadium.
Currently, West Ham occupies the second-to-last position in the league table, having accumulated only three points from five matches. A particularly damaging result was a 3-0 defeat against Sunderland.
alongside Potter, his entire coaching staff – including Bruno Saltor, Billy Reid, Narcis Pelach, Casper Ankergren, and Linus Kandolin – have also departed the club. West Ham officials have initiated the search for a replacement to lead the team.
The “Hammers” are scheduled to face Everton in an away match on Monday at 21:00. The club will be under interim leadership for that fixture as the search for a permanent manager continues.
