Rio Grande do Sul Governor Eduardo Leite Undergoes Procedure for Disc Hernias
São Paulo, Brazil – Rio Grande do Sul Governor Eduardo Leite (PSD) received a medical procedure at Vila Nova Star hospital in São paulo this Friday, October 26, to address pain stemming from disc hernias. The governor underwent a blocking procedure on both his cervical and lumbar spine, performed by neurosurgeon Dr. Francisco Sampaio, under the clinical supervision of Dr. Ludhmila Hajjar.
Leite’s decision to seek treatment in São Paulo was influenced by Dr. Hajjar’s long-standing familiarity with his medical history and her practice location at the hospital,according to a statement released by the governor’s office. Despite the procedure,Leite maintained a public schedule,participating in the closing of the Leaders Meeting in São Paulo earlier in the day and traveling to Buenos Aires to launch a tourism campaign aimed at attracting Argentine visitors to Rio Grande do Sul.
A statement confirmed the governor is in good condition and experiencing positive clinical progress, and will continue with outpatient follow-up care. He is expected to return to Porto Alegre on Monday, October 29.
