west Michigan residents can expect a shift to warmer,drier conditions beginning Friday,perhaps bringing temperatures into the 80s next week. While overnight hours will remain partly cloudy with isolated fog patches, a high-pressure system moving in from the Plains promises a prolonged stretch of sunshine and above-average temperatures.
This change marks a departure from typical fall weather, with average highs currently in the upper 60s to low 70s. FOX 17 Weather Ready Meteorologist Kara James reports highs could reach the 80s from Saturday thru Tuesday, continuing above average into the first week of October.While welcome for outdoor activities,the extended dry spell is expected to exacerbate existing drought conditions.
