Rihanna has given birth to her third child,a daughter named Rocki Irish Mayers,on September 13th. The arrival expands the family of the singer and her partner, A$AP Rocky, who are already parents to sons RZA, born in 2022, and Riot, born in 2023.
The couple announced Rocki’s birth with a pink-themed photoshoot shared on social media, offering the first glimpse of their newest addition. This birth marks a significant moment for the couple, who began their relationship in 2020, and fulfills a long-held desire for Rihanna to become a mother, a path she once envisioned pursuing independently.
In a 2020 interview with British Vogue, Rihanna spoke candidly about societal pressures on mothers, stating, “They diminish you as a mother if there’s not a dad in your kids’ lives… But the onyl thing that matters is happiness, that’s the only healthy relationship between a parent and a child.That’s the only thing that can raise a child truly, is love.”
Rocky has publicly affirmed his deep affection for Rihanna as 2021,telling GQ she is “the One” and amounts to “a million of the other ones.” Rihanna echoed this sentiment in a 2023 interview with Interview magazine, expressing her confidence in Rocky’s potential as a father: ”When someone sees you entirely, and believes in you, and thinks you’re worthy of being the mother of their kids, its a grate feeling… I knew he would be a great dad.”
