West Virginia Women’s basketball Announces 2025-26 big 12 Schedule
The West Virginia University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and the women’s basketball team, in conjunction with the Big 12 Conference, released the 2025-26 league schedule on monday.
WVU will play three Big 12 opponents twice – Cincinnati, TCU, and UCF – and face the remaining 12 conference teams once, with six games at home and six on the road. Schedule opponents were steadfast based on a combination of geography, past results, and input from the coaches, aiming to balance travel demands and competitive matchups.
The 2024-25 Big 12 women’s basketball season saw at least five teams ranked in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll for consecutive seasons, a feat last achieved by the conference from 2008-2010. The Big 12 has sent multiple teams to the Sweet 16 in four of the last five NCAA tournaments and has had at least two teams reach the regional semifinals in 22 of the last 25 tournaments, achieving the second-highest percentage (88%) of any conference during that period.
The Mountaineers will begin their conference play at home on Sunday, December 21, hosting Houston at the WVU Coliseum.
WVU will than embark on a two-game road trip, starting with a New Year’s Day contest against Kansas on Thursday, January 1, at Allen Fieldhouse. The road swing continues on Sunday, January 4, with a game against Kansas State at Bramlage Coliseum.
The Mountaineers return to Morgantown for a Wednesday, January 7, matchup against Texas Tech, followed by a trip to Ames, Iowa, to face iowa State inside Hilton Coliseum. WVU will then host the defending Big 12 Champion TCU on Wednesday, January 14, before traveling to Cincinnati for a sunday, January 18, game against the Bearcats at Fifth Third arena.
A midweek home game against Arizona State on Wednesday, January 21, precedes a two-game road trip to Utah. West Virginia will play BYU on Saturday, January 24, in Provo, Utah, at the Marriott Center, and then face Utah on Tuesday, January 27, at the Jon M. Huntsman Center.
February opens with a home game against Baylor on Sunday, February 1, before WVU travels to face Colorado on Wednesday, February 4, at the CU Events Center.
West Virginia will then have its only two-game homestand of the conference season, welcoming Arizona on Saturday, February 7, and UCF on Wednesday, february 11.
The Mountaineers will then travel to Fort Worth, Texas, for a second matchup against TCU on Sunday, February 15, at Schollmaier Arena. A home game against Oklahoma State is scheduled for Sunday, February 22.
WVU concludes the road portion of its schedule on Wednesday, February 25, with a game against UCF at Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida.
The regular season will conclude on Sunday, March 1, with a home game against Cincinnati at the WVU Coliseum.
Postseason play begins with the 2026 Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Tournament from March 4-8/9 at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City,Missouri.
