Singer D4vd has canceled upcoming tour dates as authorities investigate the death of a 16-year-old male whose body was discovered in a vehicle registered to the artist. The cancellation follows a search initiated on November 2, 2023, for the teenager, identified as David Poplar, after he failed to return home.
The examination began after Poplar’s family reported him missing to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. Police located a vehicle matching the description of the one Poplar was last seen in, and inside, discovered the teen’s body. While the circumstances surrounding Poplar’s death remain under investigation, authorities confirmed that D4vd, whose legal name is David burke, was cooperating with the inquiry. Matching tattoos were reportedly found on both D4vd and the victim, according to reports.
D4vd, a rising star known for his hit song “Romantic Homicide,” announced the tour cancellations via social media on November 3, 2023, citing the ongoing investigation and a need to focus on the situation. “I’m taking a break from touring for a bit to focus on my well-being and the ongoing investigation,” he posted. Refunds are being offered for all affected shows.
The 18-year-old musician gained prominence in 2023 with his independently released music, achieving viral success on platforms like TikTok.
