An 18-year-old boy is in critical condition after a shooting near Wembley stadium early Sunday morning, Metropolitan Police reported.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting on Atlantic Crescent at approximately 5:30 a.m. on September 21st. They discovered the teenager suffering from a gunshot wound and immediately transported him to a major trauma centre. His condition is currently life-threatening.
Police have notified the teenager’s family and are providing support. No arrests have been made as the examination continues. A portion of Wembley’s South Way remains closed as officers continue to gather evidence.
Chief Superintendent Tony Josephs, of the north West London policing team, stated, “we recognize the shock and impact this incident will have on the community. The investigation is in its very early stages and we are working at pace to establish the full circumstances. There will be an increased police presence in the local area.”
Josephs urged anyone with facts,”though small it may seem,” to contact the police.
London Ambulance Service confirmed they where called to the scene at 5:26 a.m. and dispatched multiple resources, including ambulance crews, paramedics, an advanced paramedic, an incident response officer, and a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance.
