Henry cavill Shares Poetry and Recovery Update After ‘highlander’ injury
LOS ANGELES – Henry Cavill is passing teh time during his recovery from a leg injury sustained during filming of the Highlander reboot by sharing poetry and providing an update on his healing process. The actor revealed the injury and subsequent downtime in a recent Instagram post, accompanied by a poem he penned titled “The Ballad of the Sore Leg.”
The injury,which occured while filming a fight sequence,initially led to concerns about delays for the highly anticipated Highlander remake. The film, directed by Chad Stahelski, aims to revitalize the cult-classic story for modern audiences and boasts a cast including Russell Crowe, Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista, and Djimon Hounsou. Stahelski has indicated the film will serve as a prequel to The Gathering, potentially laying the groundwork for a new franchise. Cavill’s role is central to these plans, making his recovery a key factor in the project’s timeline.
In his post, Cavill described the injury as a “nasty break” but expressed optimism about his rehabilitation. He shared a portion of his poem, writing, “‘Tis a tale of woe, a leg in plight,/A fractured bone, a darkened night.” He also noted he is “recovering well” and focusing on the creative process during his downtime.
Beyond Highlander, Cavill is also developing a cinematic universe based on Warhammer 40,000 and previously auditioned for the role of James Bond, footage of which recently surfaced online.
