Chinese Medicine Cooperation: Henan Delegation Visits Havana University

Cuban Medical University Hosts Delegation from Henan University of Conventional Chinese Medicine

Havana, ⁣Cuba – ⁤September 20, ⁣2025 – A delegation from the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Henan, China, visited the University of Medical Sciences of Havana this week to explore‍ collaborative opportunities in academic exchange, scientific research, ⁣and student mobility, with a particular focus on natural and traditional medicine.‍ The visit underscores Cuba’s ⁢ongoing commitment to international partnerships in healthcare education and advancement.

The delegation, led ​by University of Traditional ​Chinese Medicine of Henan President Wang Yaoxian,‍ toured the Institute of Basic and Preclinical Sciences⁢ Victoria de Girón and met with Cuban ‍officials to⁣ learn ‌about the structure and functioning of the Cuban health system and​ the training of healthcare professionals. Discussions centered on strengthening ties between the two institutions⁢ and ‍expanding opportunities for⁤ collaboration in the field of traditional medicine.

The Chinese ​delegation included⁤ Yao jianping,Executive Dean of the Institution Faculty of Medicine; Zhan Xiadong,secretary of ​the third‌ hospital ⁢party affiliated with​ the‌ University; Feng Bo,vice president of the fourth hospital affiliated to the university; and Kong Shenyan,deputy director of the International⁢ Cooperation Office. They were received by Dr.C. René Oramas González, Academic Vice Chancellor of the ‍University​ of ​Medical Sciences of Havana.

The⁣ meeting also included participation from Dr. Johan Perdomo Delgado,‍ Head of the Department and the‍ National ⁣Group ‍of the Specialty of the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap), and MSC. Mayasil ‌Morales Pérez, director of the Central ‌laboratory of Pharmacology.

The visit comes ⁤as Cuba’s⁣ internationally renowned Henry Reeve international Contingent of⁣ Doctors recently celebrated its ​20th anniversary, highlighting the ⁣nation’s long⁢ history of providing medical assistance globally.
