Blink-182 Announces 2025 Riot Fest Lineup Featuring Matt Skiba Reunion and Descendents’ Stephen ⁤Egerton

Chicago, IL⁣ – Blink-182‌ has revealed a highly anticipated ⁢performance at Riot Fest 2025, set to include a special reunion with former guitarist Matt‍ Skiba of⁣ Alkaline Trio and a collaborative set with Descendents’ Stephen Egerton. The⁢ proclamation marks a important moment for fans of the pop-punk icons, showcasing a blend of the band’s evolving lineup and a ⁤nod to its recent history.

The performance arrives following a period of transition for Blink-182. Tom ⁢DeLonge rejoined the band ‌in ⁣2022, prompting‌ Skiba’s departure after seven years ⁣with the group, during which he contributed to the albums California (2016) and Nine (2019).Despite the lineup shift, ⁤Skiba previously rejoined Blink-182 for a performance of “Bored To Death” at a Los Angeles wildfire ‍benefit concert earlier this year. DeLonge publicly acknowledged Skiba’s contributions, writing in an open letter, “I wanted to take a minute ‌and say thank you for all that you have done ⁤to keep the band thriving in⁢ my absence. I think you are enormously talented.” Skiba ‌responded, stating he was⁢ “truly happy”⁢ for his former bandmates and DeLonge.

Adding another layer to⁢ the Riot Fest appearance, Descendents’ Stephen Egerton will share the stage with Blink-182. Egerton’s band toured ‌the‍ UK and Europe with Circle⁢ Jerks earlier ⁤in⁣ 2024. Skiba previously addressed the challenges⁣ of stepping into DeLonge’s role, noting that initial ‍criticism “only lasted until we⁤ started ⁢playing shows,” and emphasizing the support he received from fans, stating, “It feels like our band – Mark, Travis, me and the fans.”

Riot‍ Fest 2025 is scheduled ⁤to take place September 19-21 at Douglass Park in Chicago. The Blink-182 set promises a unique experience for attendees, blending the band’s classic sound with the energy of its past and present collaborators.
