Indie rock band Wednesday has released a music video for thier new single, “Townies,” celebrating the recent arrival of their album bleeds. The video, directed and produced by Lance Bangs, showcases the band’s energetic live performance, culminating in an intimate backyard concert setting.
Bleeds marks the latest chapter for Wednesday, following their critically acclaimed 2022 album Rat Saw God.The release of “Townies” arrives after the band previously shared tracks including “Elderberry Wine,” “Wound Up Here (By Holdin On),” “Pick Up That Knife,” and “Bitter Everyday” as previews of the new record.Bangs’ involvement signals a continued creative partnership within the indie scene, as he previously directed the music video for MJ Lenderman’s “Wristwatch” from the album Manning Fireworks. He also helmed the visual for Horse Jumper of Love’s “Snow Angel,” which featured contributions from Lenderman and Squirrel Flower’s Ella Williams.
