Ghaziabad Shootout: Suspects in Disha Patani Home Firing Killed in Encounter
Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh – November 15, 2023 – Two alleged members of the Rohit Godara-Goldy Brar gang were killed in a shootout with a joint team of Delhi Police Special Cell, Uttar Pradesh STF, and Haryana STF near Tronica City, Ghaziabad, on Monday evening. The suspects were directly linked to the September 12 firing incident at the Bareilly residence of Bollywood actress disha Patani.
Authorities stated the operation began after investigators identified Ravinder from CCTV footage near Patani’s home. The UP STF tracked the suspects’ movements through Bareilly and surrounding districts, utilizing crime databases from Delhi and Haryana, and technical surveillance.
According to police, the accused were attempting to escape when intercepted around 7:20 pm.They allegedly opened fire on officers, injuring SI Rohit (gunshot wound to left hand) and HC Kailash (injury to right hand), as well as two UP STF head constables, Ankur and Jai. Police responded, resulting in fatal injuries to both suspects. They were transported to a nearby hospital but succumbed to their injuries.
Investigators revealed the gang had been monitoring Patani’s residence for weeks with the intent to extort her and her family.Haryana STF superintendent of police Waseem Akram confirmed the duo’s involvement in the Bareilly shooting.
ravinder was also wanted in connection with a 2024 court firing in Fatehabad and a September 5 gang war in Bhiwani, where a man named Luvjeet was shot outside court.
Police recovered a stolen motorcycle,a Zigana pistol,and a Glock Gen 5 pistol from the scene.
A social media account linked to Goldy Brar’s associates had previously claimed obligation for the firing at Disha Patani’s home.
