Four Games to Depart PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium in October, but Battlefield 6 Aims to Soften the Blow
PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers will see four titles removed from the service on October 21, 2025: Battlefield 1, Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, Tour de France 2023, and The Last Clockwinder. While the departure of these games may disappoint some players, the upcoming release of Battlefield 6 on October 10,2025,for PlayStation 5,Xbox Series X|S,and PC,is positioned as a significant addition that will partially offset the loss, notably for fans of the FPS genre.
The removal impacts players who rely on the subscription service for access to these titles. Battlefield 1 players on PS4 will need to purchase the game on the PS Store to continue playing, while Battlefield 5 remains available through PS Plus Extra and Premium. ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed will also be available for purchase, as will Tour de France 2023 and The Last Clockwinder, the latter of wich is also playable on PS VR2. Sony plans to announce october’s new free games and updated selections for Extra and Premium simultaneously with the removal of these four titles.
Notably, all four departing games will be discounted for purchase on the PS Store, allowing players to add them to their permanent libraries. Battlefield 6 will feature cross-play from launch across all platforms.
