JERSEY CITY, N.J. – saint Peter’s University men’s basketball has added Chris Mastrangelo as its new Director of Basketball Operations, the athletics department announced Monday. mastrangelo arrives at Saint Peter’s after seven years with the University of Connecticut, were he steadily increased his responsibilities within the programme.
Mastrangelo began his tenure with the Huskies in 2018 as a student manager during head coach Dan Hurley’s initial seasons. He was elevated to a graduate assistant role from 2021-2023 and most recently served as Assistant Director of Basketball Operations from 2023-2025, managing key day-to-day program functions.
His time at UConn coincided with a period of meaningful success, including back-to-back NCAA National Championships in 2023 and 2024, alongside two regional championships and the 2024 Big East regular season and tournament titles.
Mastrangelo’s expertise includes coordinating team logistics, video analysis for player development and scouting, and providing support to coaches and student-athletes. He holds both a Bachelor of Science (2021) and a Master of Science (2023) in sports management from the University of Connecticut.
