First three doubles teams secure qualification for WTA Finals Riyadh presented by PIF

Errani,​ paolini, and Dabrowski/Routliffe Qualify for 2025 ⁢WTA Finals Riyadh

RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA – September 12, ‍2024 ⁤ – ⁣the ​first three competitors for the ​2025 WTA Finals Riyadh⁤ presented by PIF have‌ been confirmed: sara Errani ⁢and Jasmine paolini, alongside doubles ‌team⁤ Gabriela Dabrowski and Erin Routliffe. The prestigious season-ending event⁢ will take place⁢ November 1-8, 2025, showcasing the top eight singles players ‌and ⁣doubles teams.

This qualification marks a important milestone as the Race to the WTA Finals heats ​up. For Errani and Paolini, it’s a testament to their outstanding‌ partnership this ⁢season, while ​Dabrowski‌ and ⁢Routliffe solidify their position as ‌a dominant force in women’s doubles. the WTA Finals⁤ offers a unique round-robin format, culminating in the crowning of the singles champion with the WTA ⁢Finals billie Jean King Trophy and ⁣the doubles champions‍ with the WTA Finals Martina ​Navratilova Trophy.

Errani and Paolini secured their spot with a remarkable 14-match winning streak, highlighted by title victories in Rome ⁢and ⁣Paris, followed by a runner-up finish in Berlin.

Dabrowski⁤ and Routliffe have⁢ also ‌enjoyed a prosperous⁣ season, claiming three titles including the‌ WTA 1000 Cincinnati Open, ⁤the WTA 500 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart, and most recently,​ the⁢ US Open‍ -​ their second Grand Slam title as a ‍team. ⁢They began ⁣the year strongly, reaching the Australian Open semifinals.The duo will aim to become the‌ first team since⁢ Timea Babos‌ and⁤ Kristina​ Mladenovic (2018-2019) to⁣ defend their WTA ‍finals‍ crown.

The 2025 WTA Finals Riyadh presented by PIF will feature the top ‌eight players and teams based on the ⁤PIF Race ⁤to the WTA Finals Leaderboard, with a special qualification⁣ pathway for Grand Slam champions ‍ranked between 8th and 20th.
