Nowitzki Joins Prime Video as NBA TV Analyst
Basketball icon Dirk Nowitzki will contribute as an expert analyst for Prime Video’s NBA coverage, beginning this October. The 47-year-old German legend will appear alongside other former NBA stars including Dwyane Wade, Steve Nash, and Blake Griffin, with the English-language broadcasts also accessible to German viewers.
Prime Video secured the rights to broadcast 86 main round games, the playoffs, the finals, and the inaugural Emirates NBA Cup. the deal marks a shift in german NBA broadcasting, previously held by DAZN and ProSieben Maxx, with Sky also joining the coverage. prime Video will offer the NBA to its members at no additional cost, starting October 24th with the New York Knicks versus Boston Celtics (1:30 a.m. CEST) and followed by Minnesota Timberwolves at Los Angeles Lakers (4:00 a.m. CEST).A key event will be the January 15th “Berlin game” featuring Franz and Moritz Wagner of the Orlando Magic against the Memphis Grizzlies. The play-in tournament, playoffs, and NBA Finals will alternate broadcast years on Prime Video. Günther will lead the German commentary team, supported by experts Ireti Amojo and Alex Vogel, alongside commentators Michael Körner, Basti Ulrich, and Jakob Lobach.
