Square Enix is adding new accessibility features to Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade when it launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on January 22, 2026. These “streamlined progression” settings will allow players to customize their gameplay experience, focusing on story or combat as desired.
The options, which can be toggled on or off individually, include:
* Full HP: Maintains maximum health at all times, negating damage and instant death.
* full MP: Ensures a constant maximum MP supply for unrestricted spellcasting.
* Full Limit Gauge: Starts each battle with a full Limit gauge, allowing for frequent use of powerful Limit breaks.
* Full ATB Gauge: Maximizes the Active Time Battle gauge, enabling constant access to abilities.
* 9999 Damage: Guarantees maximum damage output with every attack.
According to director Naoki Hamaguchi, these settings were implemented to accommodate diverse player lifestyles and preferences. He explained in a statement that many players want to prioritize the story and exploration, and these options provide a more casual experience. He also noted the settings are beneficial for revisiting the game, allowing players to quickly recap the narrative or explore specific scenes.
“The introduction of the streamlined progression feature was done to allow the game to cater for individual players’ different lifestyles and play styles,” Hamaguchi stated. “I want as many people as possible to experience the world of Final Fantasy 7!”
