FC Ingolstadt 04 U21 Secure 2-0 Victory Over Delay Sports Berlin
The FC Ingolstadt 04 U21 team defeated Delay Sports Berlin 2-0 in a test match played at the ESV stadium.Goals from Ognjen Drakulic (63rd minute) and patrick Bachmann (67th minute) secured the win for the home side.
The U21 started brightly, with Jason Osei-Tutu running through on goal in the first minute, only to be stopped by two Berlin defenders.Delay Sports responded with a chance for Sidney Friede, whose shot was saved by FCI keeper Lars Böhmke in the 26th minute. A minute later, Tim Sulmer shot over the goal following a cross from Egzon Ismaili (27th). Muhammed Atak’s cross for Delay Sports in the closing stages of the first half failed to find a teammate, and the teams went into the break tied at 0-0.
A wholesale change saw a new lineup take the field for Ingolstadt at the start of the second half. Donald Nduka headed narrowly wide from a corner in the 46th minute. the breakthrough came in the 63rd minute when Ognjen Drakulic scored after a dribble through the Berlin defense, finding the long corner of Lukas Betz‘s goal. Four minutes later, Patrick Bachmann capitalized on a poor pass from Deniz-Kaan Hirik, beating the opposing goalkeeper to extend the lead to 2-0.
Despite further chances for FC Ingolstadt 04, including attempts thwarted by the Delay Sports keeper, the 2-0 scoreline held.
The U21 team will next be in action on Sunday, September 14th at 11:00 a.m. against Würzburg FV in a Bayernliga Nord fixture.
