OVC Soccer Roundup: Three Conference Teams ​Battle to Draws on Thursday

A trio of Ohio Valley Conference women’s soccer teams-UT‍ Martin, Eastern Illinois, and Tennessee Tech-played to scoreless and 1-1 ties respectively on Thursday, September 11,​ as non-conference play continues across the league. The results highlight a ​competitive‌ landscape as teams prepare for conference matchups.

Tennessee tech and Middle Tennessee State engaged in a back-and-forth contest that ultimately ended in‌ a⁢ 1-1 draw in Cookeville, Tennessee. The Golden Eagles’ Allison Lee scored her first goal of the season in the 69th minute, assisted by Cheyenne ⁣McCloud, to briefly give Tech a 2-1 advantage. However, the Blue Raiders⁣ responded quickly with a goal from Sadie Sterbenz just 1:27 later, finalizing the score. tech outshot Middle tennessee State 9-7,⁢ with Howard ⁣and Anna Baker each recording two‌ shots for the golden Eagles. UT Martin and Evansville each recorded 13 total shots, with the Skyhawks holding a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks.
