Binghamton University Names Ryan LeBlanc Head Wrestling Coach
Binghamton, NY – Ryan LeBlanc has been named the head coach of the Binghamton University wrestling program, the university announced today. LeBlanc’s appointment follows a comprehensive search led by dennis Kalina and Matt Lane, and signals a commitment to building upon the program’s recent successes.
The hiring of LeBlanc comes at a pivotal moment for Binghamton wrestling. The Bearcats concluded the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons with winning records – 9-4 and 10-9 respectively – marking the frist time since 2017-18 and 2018-19 the team has achieved at least nine wins in consecutive years.This upward trajectory, coupled with the individual success of EIWA champion Brevin Cassella and national qualifier cory Day, provided a strong foundation for the program’s next chapter.
“It was a very thorough search,speedy search and effective search,” said Binghamton’s athletic director,Marshall. “Everybody had an opinion on who the coach should be, but I think they got it right.”
LeBlanc expressed his enthusiasm for the role, stating, “I just can’t wait to put my arms around this program, the kids in the program, our alumni and major stakeholders and grow it and move it forward. And our plan is to do it the right way.To build a community around us and engage our kids, watch our kids grow and thrive in our program.”
The Bearcats’ 2025-26 schedule will be released at a later date.The New York Army National Guard is the presenting sponsor of Bearcats Wrestling.
