BATON ROUGE,La. (WAFB) – Southern University and several othre Historically Black Colleges and Universities (hbcus) are currently on lockdown due to a reported potential threat.Teh lockdown at Southern University encompasses the entirety of its Baton Rouge campus, including the Southern University Law Center, the Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center, and the Southern University Laboratory School.
University officials are advising anyone currently on campus to shelter in place as they coordinate with law enforcement agencies.
In addition to Southern University, lockdowns have been reported at: Clark Atlanta University, Spelman College, Alabama State University, Hampton University, and Bethune-Cookman University.
